A Treasure Chest for Teachers – Discover Jewels from the CCDMD!
Profweb is once again pleased to begin another year dedicated to inspiring and supporting the academic integration of information and communication technology. Are we already a part of your academic toolbox? As the semester starts, learn more about our wide range of services! Just beginning your teaching career? Check out our first column by the Collegial Centre for Educational Materials (CCDMD), a regular contributor to our pages. Throughout the year, Profweb presents news from its IT partners, associations and organizations whose goals are to support you in your professional practice.
The CCDMD has been serving the college network for almost twenty years. It offers you and your students resources of quality and surprising diversity covering nearly 150 academic programs as well as multidisciplinary tools. Whether technical training manuals, computerized tools, English and French language improvement resources, etc., the CCDMD’s teaching materials have been developed by your colleagues to meet the needs of specific disciplines and programs within higher education, taking those skills students must acquire into account.
Our Catalog
Our website is the ideal place to get to know the wide range of materials that we have developed. All our academic resources, a collection that you can rely on to enrich your teaching, are in our catalog – textbooks, websites, software, interactive exercises, PDF documents, video clips, animation and photography. The search engine allows you to use keywords to quickly locate resources to suit your particular academic needs.

Excellent resources for French and English language improvement are also accessible on the Internet, and many are at no charge. The Learning Centre presents resources created for students in English CEGEPs as well as for those who are learning English as a second language. The
Amélioration du français section, for its part, has more than 15,000 pages of exercises, including 60 interactive games for pedagogical purposes.
The CCDMD also has also developed materials at home in any program or discipline. For example, the website World of Images, is a media bank of 46,000 royalty-free photos, videos and animations, useful for the production of high-quality academic materials. As well, two software packages offer the potential to create exercises in any subject – Netquiz and Crisscross Words. This last program can be used to design and create custom dictionaries from which you can generate crossword puzzles. Netquiz allows the construction of online exercises or tests without programming or HTML knowledge.
