APOP e-Conference – A First! A meeting in synchronous cyber collaboration mode
URonLine! is an event true to the 21st century. It is accessible, practical and it triggers new ways to communicate and interact. Although closely associated with the reality of Québec’s educational context, this event will also be of interest to all French and English communities outside of the province. Numerous activities are scheduled to occur in English and many communications will be offered by key figures on the Canadian and international scene.
If you are a staff member of a French or English CEGEP (teacher/support/professional/administrator) or if you are involved in post-secondary education and the educational and social impact of IT integration is of interest to you, this conference is tailor-made for YOU!
For this new adventure, beginning January 8 and ending January 11, (a “2 days” pre-conference is necessary to ensure all technologic tools are tuned) APOP is relying on three crucial elements:
« VIA », a Web-based telecommunication tool particularly versatile and user-friendly.
In order to allow participants to capture its technological format, we have planned two days to validate, on-line, their appropriation of the tool. And it is not necessary to be a computer wizard to participate! You may have little or no knowledge of IT integration into academic practice – as long as you have access to the Web from home or the office. The necessary peripheral devices (web cam and headset) will be shipped to you in advance along with APOP-surprises.
After the event, for up to 25 days, you will be able to see all communication sessions as many times as you wish and consult all the other activities of the conference.
A program filled with exciting and diverse contents.
First and foremost, the program in based on communications and presentations with interactive workshops which address the following issues: the transformation of teaching practices – the social, cultural and educational contribution of IT – the emergence of a community of shared practice.
Also, a series of self-service activities which will be accessible outside of the workshops:
- Café-rencontre
- IT partners’ showroom
- Exhibitors fair
- Exhibition of digital productions by students and teachers in Visual Arts
- Conference blog
- Discussion forums…
You will even find guided ergonomic relaxation breaks and a virtual social activity: « BYO Cyberfest »!!!
A Web site dedicated to the conference community.
The participants will have continuous access to the preparatory activities of the conference, a blog, all documents relating to the presentations and useful references, an exchange network et many other functionalities to make this event a dynamic exchange network.
URonLine is definitely a thrilling and innovative event for all of us!
