News from the Coordinator

First and foremost, I hope you had an enjoyable holiday weekend and that you are rested and ready for the final sprint to the end of the semester! I’d like to take this opportunity to share some news.

Profweb’s New Strategic Plan for 2015-2020

Profweb submitted its new strategic plan to the Profweb Steering Committee in March of 2015, before officially forwarding the final version of the plan to the Ministère de l’Éducation, de l’Enseignement supérieur et de la Recherche (MEESR). The team is looking forward to presenting the plan to you soon!

New Collaboration with the IT Representatives Network (Réseau des REPTICs)

From now until the end of the month of May, Profweb will be integrating a new section into our website. A new tab entitled Reference Tools will appear with resources to support and guide pedagogical practices. This is in line with a recommendation that arose during the consultation process for Profweb’s new strategic plan. The first reference tool that will appear in this section is the ICT Profile. Our readers will be able to consult all sorts of information on this topic. Nicole Perreault (Counsellor for the IT-REPs), Hugette Dupont (ICT Education Advisor at the Cégep de Granby) and Marie-Andrée Gingras (Profweb Web Project Coordinator) are the busy bees working to ensure that the new section is integrated as quickly as possible. We would also like to recognize the contribution of Profweb’s Webmaster Guillaume Vachon, and Audrey Drolet our precious Trainee.

If you would like to learn more about the ICT Profile, visit the framework’s homepage on the REPTIC web site. For our bilingual readership, two interesting articles related to the ICT Profile appeared in the journal Pédagogie collégiale. These articles, which were penned by Hugette Dupont, Lorraine Ouellette and Nicole Perrault (in French) are an excellent primer for the ICT Profile.

Keep an eye on the AQPC Symposium’s programming. The IT Representatives Network will be presenting a workshop entitled Développer des habiletés informationnelles, technologiques et méthodologiques.

Great News for Our Contributors

Profweb is very pleased to be hosting a Trainee in Office Technologies, New Media and Publication Design.

Since the beginning of her work term Audrey has migrated 220 Real Life Stories from the archives of the original Profweb server to our new site. She is continuing to migrate these articles. This is great news for our contributors. Under the supervision of Marie-Andrée Gingras and Guillaume Vachon, she has also made a contribution to other mandates, such as the creation of mockups for an update to the website and she has published some newsletters. She will be with us until the end of April. Thanks Audrey! We also would like to extend our congratulations to her,as we recently learned that she was accepted into the Bachelors program for Graphic Design at the Université Laval!

Audrey Drolet, Trainee in Office Technologies, New Media and Publication Design.

The Profweb team will be on hand at a variety of conferences and end of year activities. Please have a look at our article on the conference season.
