Here are some news about the Profweb team for the 2017-2018 academic year.
The English Edition team: Ryan W. Moon, Susan MacNeil et Andy Van Drom.
On the English side of things, Ryan W. Moon will continue with the team and will share the stage with 2 new Editors.
Susan MacNeil is an English as a Second Language teacher from Collège Mérici who recently retired. We know that she likes to innovate and share. Here’s the proof!
Andy Van Drom is a teacher in the Modern Languages department at Cégep Limoilou. After completing an MA in Language and Literature at the University of Antwerp in his native Belgium, Andy moved to Quebec to pursue doctoral studies in Linguistics at Université Laval. Since 2005, he has been teaching Linguistics and ESL at the college and university level. He is also the author of 3 textbooks in these fields. In 2016, Andy published his first Real Life Story on Profweb and has published another this week.
Andy and Susan are very much looking forward to sharing their passion for new technologies in the classroom as well as pedagogical approaches that motivate students students to learn.
The team would like to extend their best wishes to Angela Stevens, who will be taking on a new role as a Pedagogical Counsellor at Champlain St-Lawrence in Quebec City.
The French Edition Team: Catherine Rhéaume, Andréanne Turgeon, Alexandre Dal-Pan et Mélissa Philippe.
On the French side of things, Catherine Rhéaume is returning to the team after being away on maternity leave. She will also continue teaching Physics. Catherine already has a few Real Life Stories up her sleeves, since she will be innovating by adopting a flipped-classroom approach for her courses. Alexandre Dal-Pan, who replaced Catherine during her leave, won’t be too far afield, as he will continue to file stories from time to time as an occasional contributor.
Mélissa Philippe will continue to contribute occasionally on the topic of digital entrepreneurship in the college system.
Andréanne Turgeon, Editor and Copy-editor will continue in her habitual role this fall. She’s already on fire with her work on a 3-part In-depth Report on classroom management in the digital age.
Guillaume Vachon, our web designer.
Guillaume Vachon, our wizard behind the curtain, will continue to support the team with his work as Webmaster and graphic designer. You can also count on his support for your web space on Profweb.
The year is off to a good start! The team is looking forward to highlighting your pedagogical experiments and even the products and services made available by different organizations and associations in the college network. By all means, please feel free to contact us.
