ACPQ’s Ateliers pédagogiques – May 28th and 29th, 2015 at the Manoir du Lac Delage

The end of the semester marks the beginning of conference season in the college network. With this in mind, the Association des collèges privés du Québec (ACPQ) is inviting all of the pedagogues from the private and public college network to the Manoir du Lac Delage on May 28th and 29th for the 2015 edition of the Ateliers pédagogiques de l’ACPQ (ACPQ’s Pedagogical workshops).

The theme of the 38th edition of the Ateliers pédagogiques, One Thousand and One Learning Environments for Innovation is an appropriate one for the exploration of the different uses of technology in teaching and learning, and to collectively reflect on the requirements for their effective use.

Isabelle Nizet, a professor from the Université de Sherbrooke will kick off the event with a keynote address that discusses the objectives and underlying conditions for an effective flipped classroom implementation. The next morning, delegates will enjoy another plenary led by Professor Mathieu Gagnon from Collège Nouvelles Frontières, who will share the results of his work on how the memory functions and how to assist students to better address their learning. Finally, the closing plenary will be led by Pierre Poulin, the President of iClasse, who will weigh in on the fundamental pedagogical changes that are happening with the massive integration of technology in the classroom.

In the meantime, the conference delegation will have chosen from among 21 different sessions, including some of the following:

  • Active classrooms and collaboration
  • Education technology tools for evaluating, supporting and supervising students
  • Reports on implementing Universal Design for Learning
  • Communities of practice
  • Project-based learning
  • Digital badging
  • Innovations in college libraries
  • An evaluation of the coherency between courses
  • Pedagogical research reports from colleges on the topic of emerging clientele or student mobility.

Of these 21 activities, 6 will be presented in English.

The complete program for the event is available on the ACPQ website (in French), in the Ateliers pédagogiques section. Interested parties may now register by visiting the ACPQ’s interactive module by clicking on this link. On the webpage, you simply provide your e-mail address to create an account, or to access your existing account.

As usual, the Ateliers pédagogiques conference is also a time to share and to exchange, especially at the banquet and dance that will be taking place on the evening of Thursday, May 28th.

The Manoir du Lac Delage is offering accommodation and dining packages at a special rate for all the conference participants. The special rate is being offered until April 20th. All this information and more can be found in the program for the Ateliers pédagogiques.
