Digital Resources to Provide Feedback to your Students (May 2016)
I appreciated the quantity, diversity and quality of the resources that were recommended by Catherine Rhéaume! Her article makes me want to try out new ways of offering feedback to our students, and she really “demystified” the use of technology to support the feedback process!

On my end, I found a few good tricks that will be useful in the classroom. Here are my top 3!

Socrative au banc d’essai à l’université (March 2016)
I found the possible applications for Socrative in the classroom really interesting. I had tried it out after reading the article Socrative: An Online Alternative to Clickers (June 2014) and I found that the interest of my students in my grammar lessons increased tenfold! This text is still one of my favourites – a sign that Profweb articles withstand the test of time, which happens to pass exceedingly fast in the realm of technology!
Audio Feedback: Customized Follow-up for Students (May 2016)
I found the idea really interesting since I had the impression that feedback could only be done in writing. Hearing the tone of voice provides an added value for students.

Centre d’apprentissage en application pédagogique des TIC (CAPTIC) : un modèle d’accompagnement innovant (November 2015)
This article provides a great example of cooperation between the different services in a college, which allows for tailored accompaniment that responds to the training requirements of teachers and students. As for the “student version” of CAPTIC… Wow!

In addition, the story-telling and inclusion of testimonials provides for a better understanding of the issues related to the implementation. Excellent work on the editing.

I took a cue from this article to arrange my own office!

From the French Side: How Time Flies! (May 2016)
Links between the Anglophone and Francophone sectors are very important. This article by Ryan Moon and Angie Stevens makes all the richness happening in the Francophone sector accessible to the Anglophone side.
Classe inversée et enseignement explicite en Techniques d’éducation spécialisée (March 2016)
In particular, the article by Bruno Lemieux, describing the flipped  classroom had particular resonance on my own practice.
À la découverte d’un nouvel outil pour l’amélioration de l’orthographe française (March 2016)
Also the article by Alexandre Dal-Pan about diagnosing French spelling mistakes, points to useful techniques for students and teachers alike.

I found the solution for verifiying the identities of RAC candidates who are doing their evaluations at a distance to be qute ingenious.
“Video Selfies” in Class (October 2015)
This Real Life Story from Charles Laporte at LaSalle College shares an excellent way to seek out and involve shy students in your class. I presented this story at a Pedagogical Day which took place at Cégep Heritage College in Gatineau on May 31st, 2016. Many of the teachers in attendance were enthusiastic about Video Selfies and saw potential applications for their own students.
Discovering Language Improvement Tools on My Journey of Learning French as a Second Language (March 2016)
As part of the Semaine de la francophonie, Profweb Editor Angie Stevens shared various tools for French language improvement. Angie shows her very human side by sharing her personal experience learning the language of Molière and her father’s wish that she seize the opportunity to learrn French better than he had. Her story most definitely struck a chord with me (as a fellow Anglophone from Ontario), and demonstrates her passion for the French language.

Adapted Services and Mobile Applications: Inclusive Tools for Supporting Success and Healthy Lifestyles (February 2016)
Véronique Turgeon’s article is an excellent example of a tangible transfer of research findings and in-the-field experience to addressing student needs. I appreciated that the point of view of the students was considered when identifying strategies, resources and tools to respond to their needs.

What is plagiarism? How do you cite sources correctly according to their format? What resources and tools are accessible within the college network to get informed about plagiarism? Bernard Gagnon submitted an in-depth reference report that addresses these questions. Keep this one in your bookmarks to refresh your memory or inform your students!
How ICTs Are Changing the College Library and Expanding Our Classrooms (May 2016)
Not so long ago, college and university libraries were still the primary source of information to which students turned in order to write their term papers. With the multiplication of informational sources and the important space that technology now occupies, I found this portrait of the evolution of libraries in the college network – which perfectly reflects the change in educational context – to be very interesting: Collaborative spaces, the integration of technology, expert assistance for students conducting documentary searches and the use of digital tools, etc.

It was interesting to learn about the results of this collaborative endeavour in distance education that transcends the borders of Quebec. A veritable mine of useful information is present in this article.
