Social Media: A Special Partnership and New Developments!

This text was initially published by Profweb under a CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 International licence, before Eductive was launched.

During the fall semester of 2015, the Profweb team collaborated with Brigitte Landry, a teacher in the Business Administration program at Cégep Limoilou. Brigitte was looking for an authentic case study for her students in the new E-business course that would allow them to work with a real client.

Two sections of the course proceeded to analyze the number of visits to the Profweb site using data provided by Google Analytics.  They also examined our activity on social media. After two weeks of working on the project, the two groups submitted an analysis report.

The Profweb team attended one of the final presentations given by the students at the end of the semester. Several new avenues for development were proposed to us by the students. The work is on-going!

Profweb Is Active on Social Media

You may have noticed that Profweb has become more active on social media since fall 2015. Our team has been working hard to publicize your innovative experiences and collaborative projects in order to make them known throughout the college community. Do not hesitate to share your favourite publications in your network: together, we can make the accomplishments and inspiring techno-pedagogical approaches of our teachers shine!

In addition to our Calendar of Activities, we will make sure that information about the services and resources offered by our 11 partners, throughout the college network, will be shared through social media. We invite you to follow us on Twitter or LinkedIn to learn about the latest news!

Profweb in the Field

Profweb met with future CEGEP teachers and presented our resources and services to them

Profweb ventured to Université Laval, on January 20 and 21, 2016, to meet students in a Specialized Graduate degree program for college teaching in order to introduce them to our resources and services, as well as those of our partners. We have portrayed one of these outings with pictures: you can take a look at them on our new Instagram account. Would you like to share inspirational and funny photos related to your use of educational technology? It’s now possible by using the hashtag #Profweb. We look forward to discovering your world through pictures!

Keep an eye out in the coming weeks for the Real Life Story of Charles Laporte, a LaSalle College teacher who teaches a course entitled Social Media.
