About the author

Dr. Elizabeth (Liz) Charles is a faculty-researcher at Dawson College and co-Director of SALTISE, the community of practice that supports instructors using active learning. She has a PhD in Educational Technology, Concordia University and a post-doctorate in Learning Sciences from Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta. Liz Charles’ experiences include visiting researcher with Virtual Math Teams project, Drexel University, Philadelphia and invited researcher at Université de Montréal. Her research has been funded by Quebec’s Ministry of Education and Social Science & Humanities Research Council (SSHRC). She received the College Sector Educator Award (2012), from the STLHE; and, the Annual Research Recognition Award (2019), from Dawson College. Areas of research include:
